Bespoke Cake Examples
I have always made cakes and enjoyed them, starting mainly when my own children were small and when my sister got engaged. During the latter years I have experimented more and widened my style and variations.
I once won a competition for a Victoria Sponge cake whilst I lived in Spain. It was held at the local Adult Learning College, where I went to learn Spanish. Many of the town's ladies used to attend to learn reading and writing and we had many fiestas - 'Chocolate and Churros' and Paella. This one required us all to write up a favourite recipe in Spanish, little did we know we would have to make it. Anyway I did and all the ladies and other ex-pats made their favourite dish. The judge was a local restaurateur and he liked my cake and I was the winner! I was so surprised that he liked it, as Spanish cakes are so different to ours. I won a Spanish recipe book and had my name in the local paper - which is quite a novelty in itself. I was very proud and we all ate the food afterwards, with my cake not lasting long at all. The cakes I make now, are individual and suit the style, personality and character of the person who the cake is for. I will find out as much information as I can about who the cake is for and with your suggestions, design a cake especially for them. |
